What to expect when volunteering with construction 

Volunteering for construction with Charleston Habitat for Humanity is an excellent way to make a hands-on difference. A typical day on the build site gives you the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, and gain a fresh perspective on what you can do for your community. 

After arriving on the build site, the construction shift will start with a brief introduction to the Habitat mission and construction site safety. Volunteers will be given the necessary tools and guided through the different projects for the day. Prior construction knowledge is unnecessary, as all tasks will be taught and demonstrated.

Please be aware that there is very limited parking at the build site, so if you are volunteering for the afternoon shift, please do not arrive before noon as the morning shift will not be leaving until 11:30 a.m.
